Kathye Fetsko Petrie is a freelance writer whose publication credits include The Philadelphia Inquirer, Main Line Today, The Writer, Writers’ Notes, The Sun, Parents Express, pif, Broad Street Review, Literary Mama and Literary Hub. She is the author of the children’s picture book, Flying Jack and from 2002-2018 was editor/publisher of Local LIT, the online publication of literary events and resources in the Philadelphia area.
Petrie attended the S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and The College of Arts and Sciences at Syracuse University and holds a BA in both magazine journalism and English. She specializes in writing about books and literary topics, and has published interviews with notable authors including Mary Gordon, Ben Yagoda and William Styron. She is at present completing an adult nonfiction book about the writing lives of writers who are mothers.
Kathye Fetsko Petrie is married to award-winning Philadelphia International Flower Show designer, horticulturist and garden artist, Michael Petrie. After a lifetime on the East Coast, most often in Philadelphia, Media, and Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, the Petries in late 2018 relocated to the Pacific Northwest. They have three grown sons and one grandson.
