Vintage metal parts bins, found objects, vintage silver trays and colorful crumpled signs were recycled as a green wall art installation designed by Michael Petrie of Michael Petrie's HANDMADE GARDENS for the Flower Show’s presenting sponsor, PNC Bank, at the 2010 Philadelphia International Flower Show. The plant material included ferns, succulents, bromeliads and vines—plants that can thrive on a vertical surface. The green wall was a nod to PNC's 2,380-square-foot green wall on its 30-story headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA, which is the largest green wall in North America. Below, right: Jane Pepper, outgoing President of the Philadelphia Horticultural Society in 2010 in conversation in front of the PNC Bank exhibit.
